Hi my name is Aaron. I am from Altadena, CA. I've been doing care giving for about three years now.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because simply I love helping people out. I think that's what my calling is. I believe I'm called to help people and people who can't help themselves physically. Also to help people grow and try not to see or experience the things that I've experienced growing up, which are not bad but to me they're bad and it can be a lot different. I would love to help somebody avoid tolls in the road.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be please have patience, please. That's the main thing with this job. You must have patience and you must have the time and you must be a nurturing person to care and actually care for someone who you never knew. You just have to have those patience.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget is a guy named Ryan that I used to work with up in Utah. He was highly functioning but he was very driven to get a job. He was very driven and he really made me look at them as just how I would look at myself or any other person with a disability. It makes you open your eyes up to different situations and see how people are different. It's really not that much of a difference.
