Hi, my name is Angelica Morales. I live in the city of La Mirada and I have five years of experience.

How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I enjoy working with different types of clients. I'm there to assist them and protect and serve them in any way I can. I'm a very trustworthy person and responsible. It just gives me a joy. I feel peace within myself once I see another person getting their needs met. If they can't tie their shoe or they need support in cleaning their home or bathing or brushing their teeth, it's something very gratifying and very easy for me to do. It just makes me feel happy that they're happy as well.

What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new caregiver would be is to always serve and protect the patient. To be very compassionate and understanding about their wellbeing and also their privacy. It's very important to have those things in place before you begin taking care of the patient.  So try to give them the best care you can so they can be happy and you can be happy.

Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget is a client that I have now. Her name is Mary and she is a Parkinson's patient. She is very ill and such a sweetheart. It's a very tough case but she is very sweet. She's a Christian lady so we pray a lot. She's a person that has a beautiful background, lettting me know about her past a lot. Up to this date, she always likes to get all dolled up, meaning she likes to put on her little headband, her little earrings, and she likes to wear very nice clothing. So she's always up. She wants to be up and very active regardless if she's in her wheelchair. She's very memorable because she feels that I'm her angel. My name's Angelica but she calls me Angel. She says that she feels very at ease when I'm next to her because she feels that I give her peace of mind. I will never forget about her.
