Hi, this is Asia. I have three years in care giving and I live in Fontana, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
The reason why I became a caregiver is because one of my family members had gotten really sick and they needed my help, I offered them my help and I just loved it. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed running errands for them, grocery shopping, giving them their medicine, making sure that they're able to get in and out the shower. I just really enjoyed my job when I did have my job.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new provider would be to be patient, understanding, communication with your client and finding out what they like, what they don't like and how they like the way with their things, how they want their things to be put up or whatever the case may be. It's just a whole communication thing and understanding and having patience and understanding.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget, her name was Sheila. She was very heart warming. We had a lot of heart to heart talks. I really got to know her as a person and what lead to her being sick and all that. We'll pray together, get to know each other. She gave me strength. I gave her strength. It was just a heartwarming moment and I'll never forget it.
