Hi, my name is Badnaa. I live in Los Angeles, CA. I have experience working as a caregiver for four years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became caregiver because my husband worked for 10 years in hospice as a caregiver manager and a director. And while he was working, I was helping him to care for his patients and because I feel joy and peace when I helping the sick people or the senior people who need help. So because of that, my husband and I, we have a compassion to communicate with people and help them.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a caregiver would be, if they should help them, like always be ready to help, care for them them with a loving and caring heart. If they don't have a right attitude we can't provide a very good quality care to the patients. Take care of their bathing, grooming or making food for them or cleaning the house for them, it will be much easier. Also a caregiver should be happy and the patient will be happy too.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
I will never forget one of my clients, she was a young lady about 30 years old. She's married and has a 2 year old baby. She was not in a very good condition. She was very weak and in so much pain. I took care of her for a week and then the following week she died. Before that, she was very sad knowing that she was leaving her baby and her husband. She's someone I will never forget.
