Hi, my name is Brandi. I live in Hurst, TX and I have been a CNA for 13 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I have a genuine passion for helping people that cannot take care of themselves.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is if you're doing it just for a paycheck, not to do it. It takes so much love and compassion to do a good job that people deserve. If you're not doing it to help someone, if you don't have the drive to make someone safe or make someone feel better about themselves, then you don't need to be doing it.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Annabelle. She lived in our memory care unit. And while I did not work in the memory care unit, I went back there every day just to talk to her. She just brought this light out in me that I will never forget.
