My name is Bridget. Lived in the city of Los Angeles, CA. I have zero years experience with caregivers, six months with CNA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I see my mother, my grandmother and my great-grandma be nurses all their life, so I got a lot of experience watching them and growing up physically going to hospitals and visiting a bunch of clients.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be not to get scared, not to get frightened when something happens, just to take control and just try to resolve the problem.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is a client I was helping in the hospital, she was put in the way far back of the hospital. No one was there to see her, so I was the one that was attending her every 20 minutes or so, and she actually appreciated the help that I was giving her. And she actually needed someone to translate for her, so I was able to translate everything into Spanish for her so that was a lot of help for her. So that was one of my memorable days.
