Hi. My name is Brittney. I live in Waco, TX, and I have been a babysitter / nanny probably a total of 2 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I have a passion for helping people. And since I started this occupational therapy assistant program, I've really enjoyed just learning how to help people and the benefit, the joy it brings when you get to help somebody.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be some techniques I think I learned through the occupational therapy program, and I've also been a phlebotomist for eight years now. So I work in the healthcare field, and I've definitely learned you want to listen to your patient.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is probably one of my nursing home patients. When I used to work at-- well, I didn't work at the nursing home. I did a mobile lab, so it had to go to the nursing home. And it was a patient that pretty much I seen weekly, but I seem him a couple of times a week, actually.
