Hi, my name is Cecelia. I live in Hemet, CA and I have a year and a half of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I used to take care of my grandmother and I had a passion for it. I loved helping her. She had Alzheimer's and diabetes so that just inspired me to work as a caregiver and help people that are in need.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to read your notes and to learn about the patient and see what his abilities are and what he can and cannot do. Treat them with the utmost respect, and just be there, and be friendly for the patient, and don't treat them any less because some are not able to do what they did when they were younger, and that would be my advice.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Vincent. He was very kind, very sweet, very smart, intelligent and my experience with him that I remember most is his smile. He would always greet me, was always nice. We got very close and everything and he loved my cooking so he was always pleased with that.
