Hi, my name is Maria, and I live in Coarsegold, CA and I have four years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a take caregiver because I love to something for someone that they need help, especially when there's old people that is when they need a lot of patience, help, love, and treat them well.
What advice would you give to a new caregiver?
My advice, like take caregiver, will be, first, when you work with old people, the most important thing is to tell them to feel them secure with you and treat them with love, with patience, and that way they can feel happy with you. Always try to do the best you can with them, even if sometimes they are very stubborn. Never take nothing personal, and try to, you know, to feel like that you are with them just for take care, you know, to feel them good, and always do the things that they ask you to do for them, you know, or their family. Always do the best you can with you, because the job do the best you can.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The client that I never forget is Eva, because it was the most beautiful experience that I have with a old lady. They hire me not because she was sick or something. She was in perfect health, just, they need company for her. Then it was very, very nice experience because she always want to stay with me like a little girl playing, singing, and she want me to read. They want to be sometimes praying because she was a very-- you know, a lady that she liked to pray and always, you know, telling me stories about her life and always laughing and eating, playing. It was a wonderful experience working with her. Being with her, it was something that I will never forget.
