Hello my name is Christian. I have one year of caregiving experience and I live in North Fork, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I saw a great need for caregivers in my area and also because of the fact that I have the natural want to help people so I always gravitated towards a job that I felt like made a difference in other people's lives.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to remain patient, to keep being persistent in trying to establish good boundaries and just genuinely keep a positive attitude even when some things may not go your way just to keep on smiling and instead to turn it into a positive situation and positive environment.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Brian. He was always just such a funny guy. Always kind of just a scatter box of random different things that he would say or talk about. I always remember being so interested in what he had to say and what he had to interpret from his day to day life. He always battled with his ups and downs as he had different developmental problems but he always was a really funny guy and he always tried to make the best out of different situations and it always made me happy and inspired in some ways because of how uplifting sometimes he would be in some certain things and how funny he would be and that different sense of humor that he had.
