Hi, my name is Christina, and I live in the city of Montclair, CA and I've been a caregiver for 15 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver after being in a bad motorcycle accident at the age of 22 and seeing all the care that was given to me, and after the years went on with rehab. And then, having to take care of my mom and loved ones. That is why I became a caregiver.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, first of all, treat each patient like if they were your loved ones. Second of all, to know that every client is different, and to have patience and care for each and every individual.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is one who I spent very little time in hospice who told me about her whole life story, which was very amazing and interesting. I spent a little time with her, to take care of her to the day she passed. That is one of my most memorable time with a client.
