Hi. I'm Christine. I live in Pittsburg, California, and I have eight years of experience as a caregiver.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I like helping people, especially with their needs every day, especially at home. And I started as a caregiver when I'm still young, so I have the experience doing that. And it just makes me happy and very comfortable knowing that I'm helping someone out. So I became a caregiver because of my experiences and because I'm happy to see people happy when I help them.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is as a caregiver, you need to have a lot of patience with elderly, because a lot of people are different in any way, so you have to have a lot of patience. People are just different. And also, you always have to put yourself in their shoes. Always have empathy with everything that you do for them. For caring someone else, you have to understand where they're coming from so you can do your job well.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
My client that I will never forget is Mr. Francis because he is my first one-on-one client. And what I can't forget about him, he treats us like his own child, and we would always go out and everything, and he's a happy guy.
