Hi, my name is Corey. I've been a caregiver for 10 years, and I live in San Diego, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because of my grandmother. I started caring for her at the age of 15 with a worker's permit. And ever since then, I enjoyed it, and I've taken on a passion for it.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, to take care of a person as if they were your own family member or your own loved one.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I never will forget is Maryann. Maryann and I would always go to Starbucks and get pumpkin spice latte. And there was one time, I bought her cup back, and there was no pumpkin spice in it. She was like, "Huh. This doesn't taste right. Something's not right about this." So that's one of the best memories I have with that client, because that's something we did every morning. We looked forward to getting Starbucks. And this one day, she figured out her order was wrong, and it was kind of funny.
