Hi, my name is Courtnee. I live in Bruceville-Eddy, TX and I have been a caregiver for over five years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my mother had gotten into a car accident. As I was at young age and had taken care of her from the age eight up until she passed away at 40, it inspired me to want to care for others, and I grew a love for the healthcare field.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to be patient, kind, and understanding. Remember that all elderly are different, and each client that you have will be a different way of care you have to provide. It's a learning process. It's a growing process, but it's a great field to be in.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I never will forget was an elderly woman that was so loving and kind. No matter what you did she wanted to be able to do for herself. She did as much as she could to help you. She was just so caring, and just a great person to work for.
