Hi, my name is Cynthia. I currently live in El Monte, CA and I have 4 years of caregiver experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I realized that a lot of the people do need the extra help taking care of their loved ones. I started working with kids and my major is definitely sociology. I want to get into just more hands on, and help change people's lives by providing exceptional care and services to the needs of each client.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be definitely to build a relationship with the client, to get to know the client, to build trust, and definitely the client always has to be comfortable in the environment their placed in with mutual respect, and definitely a lot of communication to make sure that our client is comfortable and receptive to other activities.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Ramera. She was very kind and taught me a lot about life and to always stick to love. That was her secret to staying young and happy. To make sure that everything I do I do with a passion, to give my full effort to my passion, and to not be afraid to step out of my comfort zone to succeed.
