Can you tell me a little about yourself and how you got into caregiving?
Hi, my name is Cynthia. I live in Milpitas, and I've been caregiver for almost ten years for dementia, and Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's disease. And I love working with the old people, and I treat them like my family. I began with caregiving because I like to help old people, and all my family works in the medical field. And like I said, I like to work with peoples, and I have fun.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
I work with the dementia when I work with a lady. I just talk and, and talk clearly. And if I can't able to manage them or help them, I just step out, and come back for a little while, and talk again - what's going on and what I need to go work.
What piece of advice would you give to a new caregiver?
I learned as a giver to be patient, to cooperate, and be on time, and be patient especially to ask them to know what they need - like a lot of, lot of patience.
