Hi, my name is Cynthia. I live in Salinas, CA. I have four years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I started caring for some of my loved ones, my grandparents, and my biological father.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to have a lot of patience. With the elderly, sometimes it takes awhile to understand what they are trying to say. Just have a lot of patience.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Richard in the city of Santa Cruz. He had short term memory loss, but he always liked to sing. So, anytime we would go in the car, he'd always ask me to put this song. It was about a dog looking out the window, and he would sing it all the time. We would always have a great time singing it together.
