How did you get into caregiving?
The person who inspired me to become a caregiver was my grandmother that I used took care of. She was a bedridden patient, she had stroke. It was something I was interested in after taking care of her. I enjoy working with older people, caring about older people.
What type of experience do you have?
I've been a caregiver for 35 years. I've cared for many people with trach care, stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease. I've worked with difference cases and clients.
What kind of advice would you share with a new caregiver?
If I could give one piece of advice to a caregiver I would make sure I'd tell them to make sure they care about the client as well as just saying I'm working with them. And make sure the client is comfortable and that you've done everything you can do to make her happy or him.
What makes you proud to be a caregiver?
What makes me proud to be a caregiver is making sure my client is comfortable, happy, and safe. I'm just there for them whenever they need me.
