My name is Dieu. I live in Los Angeles, California. Two months experience of being a caregiver, but I work as a CNA now.
How did you get into caregiving?
I wanted to take care of elderly people because my dad died at the hospital. Nobody to take care of him. So I had this willingness to take care of elderly people.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, you have to respect the people around you and you have to treat them with dignity. Know your limit, and know how you talk to them. And anything they want, you make it available for them at their time required.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is this one that taught me, advised me on how to go about life like a young American today. And also, this client would educate me on how to go about life. This client would make me learn a lot, make me see the difference to become a man, to better my life tomorrow.
