Hi. I'm Donberry. I live in North Highlands, CA and I have been a CNA for almost 2 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because of my wife. She's a nurse. And I love to help different and old people, just to take care of them because I have grandparents also. So I love helping.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be is just keep smiling, be friendly, work hard, and be patient with the resident. Just keep smiling.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Martha. She's always happy every time she see me. Every time I go inside her room, she's really happy because we always talk stories inside her room and she's always positive about everyday life. Even if she's sick, she still try to smile. So every time I go inside her room, I give her everything first and get ready for the whole day, like giving her water, preparing her hospital gown and everything. So she's happy about that.
