Hi, my name is Dynasty. I've been a caregiver for six years. And I live in Albany, GA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because that's just my nature. I feel that I was put on this earth to care for people. My goal in life is to become a pediatric oncology registered nurse, working with kids who have cancer. One of my cousins died of cancer, I used to take care of her when I was younger. I was raised by my grandmother, which I had to take care of her and I'm still taking care of her.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to remain patient, remain calm at all times. There are times and situations that you may get frustrated, but the way you feel also carries on to your resident or your patient.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget is Doug. Because Doug was a very happy and nice client that I had. I know I heard in the past that he wasn't always like that, but he's like that with me. I can definitely say that he's like that with me.
