Hi! My name is Elizabeth. I live in Littlerock, California, and I have six years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver when my husband's brother-in-law needed someone to sit with his grandfather a few days a week, and I absolutely fell in love with it.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to have a lot of patience. Sometimes they don't understand, they get confused, and then they get angry at times, so just be patient. Don't take it to heart when they get angry. It's just the situation they may be in.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget was Allen. He was 92 years old. Every day that I went to work with him, we would go shopping, go to the mall, have lunch, and just laugh all day long. Every day, when we get home, we would have a bowl of ice cream, and he would like to watch me swim and have a good time. He took care of me as I took care of him. He surely will be missed.
