Hi, my name is Eseta. I've been a caregiver for five years and I'm residing in Fresno, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver last 2012 in Anchorage, Alaska, and the reason why I became a caregiver because I was a caregiver for my parents. So I have the knowledge from caring for them and the way I care for my parents, that's the way I care for my clients or patients and I would love to care for other people here in California.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new caregiver would be, to be patient. Be patient with whatever they're going to throw to you, whatever they ask, whatever they say. Just be patient. You need to have patience in yourself.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget is Ms. Betty. I had this client up in Anchorage, Alaska, and the first time I met her, she was mean. She'll say anything to me, cuss me out, and if I don't do what she wants me to do like take her out to the backyard, sit for a while, and I can't do that because the daughters won't let me to.
