Hi my name is Eugenia. I live in the city of Carson, CA and I've been a caregiver for one year.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my mother suffered aneurysm and I took care of her because no one else would do a better job than me, myself, her daughter.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to new caregivers would be, make sure your in it because your heart is in this type of job, not because of the money you're going to make or how much it pays because in the long run, you will hate your job and you need to show up loving your job every day.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is BJ. She was just upset and depressed because her family left her at this facility. So she just needed someone to sit and talk who he is and spend her time and she just wanted love attention. So I will always remember her because she would ask me how is my day. She would ask me about my family, maybe just to sit there and listen to me. But she didn't seem she has an employee, she would every day greet me, smile and say hi to me.
