Can you tell me a little about yourself and how you got into caregiving?
My name is Evangaline and I'm from Hayward, California. I started my career as a caregiver when I came into California. I came from Alaska, I stayed there for three years and I manage the facility of my sister for three years. I am a registered nurse in the Philippines and I had the experience for almost 30 years in different areas before I came into Alaska and managed the facility of my sister.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The first person that comes to my mind in caring is my father because he died of colon cancer.
What piece of advice would you give to a new caregiver?
One piece of advice for a new caregiver is to love your work. You should really be compassionate, you cannot do your job as a caregiver if you are not really compassionate.
What is your proudest moment as a caregiver?
My proudest moment as a caregiver is to really serve the elderly, I love the elderly.
