Hi! My name is Felicia. I have 15 years experience, and I live in Cypress, Texas.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I love helping people, and my career plan is to become an RN, and I'm currently trying to reach that goal, and all the while I just love helping people that's ill, to be able to give them hope, and let them know that someone cares for them.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is to tell them to make sure that if this is not something that you want to do, don't get into it. You have to be dedicated, and really care, and want to do this field. If not, then it's not the job for you. So, only do it if you're passionate about doing it.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget is Ms. Libber. I had been with her for like a year and half, even if we are gone, I would give her a call. She taught me some things that I didn't know about, and today I use them. You know, like cooking, setting the table in a certain way, she taught me a lot things, like I said, I still use them to this day. She's gone now, but I just miss being around her, the stories that she would tell me when she was a child, whatever, it was really inspiring. So overall, I just really got close to her, and we did a lot, like a second mom almost, and I miss her. I really like thinking of her, because even though I was there helping her, she was helping me as well.
