Hi. My name is Genet. I live in Santa Rosa. I have ten years experience as a caregiver.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because a friend of mine introduced me to the company, and I used to take care of a family member also. And I took a CNA class to improve my skill, and I like working with seniors.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new caregiver would be, be responsible and on time all the time, and to work with passion, and have good communication with the client, and try to do what would be good for the client, and be positive.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The client I would never forget, his name was Floyd. I work with him for five years, he had Alzheimer's. But every day at 4:00 he used to say, "We need to go out for a pie and coffee." For a pie and coffee. So we used to go out for a pie and coffee and then have a good time and enjoy because he used to go for a pie and coffee with his wife at 4:00 in the neighborhood coffee shop. We used to do that, that was a very fun one for me.
