Hi, my name is Gianna. I live in Pharr, TX. And I've been a caregiver off and on for about 23, 24 years now.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a CNA in 1993 because my mom was sending me to school to become a nurse. Didn't quite finish the nursing. So, I completed the CNA certificate class. And I discontinued with that.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be show compassion and patience. I see little of that in the workforce these days.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is a lady I used to work with many years ago. She had Alzheimer's. She was very nice patient. Nothing we could do to save her. That was all. She kind of sticks in my heart after very, very, very many years of her being gone.
