Hi, my name is Gina. I live in Garland, TX and I have 12 years of home health care providing service experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because a girlfriend of mine got afflicted with cancer and I was able to help her as she begins to make her transition out of here and I felt it will be something that I would be interested in being able to offer back the services to those a little less fortunate. I continued on my care of service to my uncle as well as my mother that has passed on.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, to be patient, to be attentive, and to listen to the concern of the people they are taking care of. They are in a position that they didn't request to be in and we are there to provide a service for them doing whatever to help them in their journeys.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is a gentleman who was struggling with lung cancer. He was really suffering but instead of him feeling bad for himself he always encouraged others. He always had words of encouragement and not worried about himself and what he was going through. He really inspired and encouraged me in ways that I can never explain and I will never forget that client.
