Can you tell me a little about yourself and how you got into caregiving?
My name is Grace I live in Richmond California and I have been a caregiver for about two years in America and about four or five years back where I come from which is Kenya in East Africa. I started caregiving because of taking care of my grandparents. So just seeing how well they responded to someone who they knew, someone who they trusted, that is what drove me into caregiving and all the people and just trying to help them because so many people get so busy with their lives and they forget that the older people also need constant care and attentions.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The first person who come into my mind is my grandma. My grandma was a very active person and she was loving and caring and the whole entire village loved her and knew her and she was willing to help and go out of her way. And when her health started failing I knew that as a family we had to step in and help her and try and carry her dreams forward and we do that regardless of whether I'm back at home or I'm here. So she started causes and we continue with those causes.

And if you have compassion and understanding and listening and then you create upon ways the family of the person that you're working for, I believe you will create a lasting relationship and I think that is the best feeling that you can have
