Hi, my name is Grace. I live in San Francisco, CA and my experience is 15 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver at first because I needed money at that time but then I started to like it, so now I've been a caregiver for 15 years. The people that I take care of inspire me to do this job and it's rewarding and fulfilling.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is for them to love their job. Don't work because of the money but work because you love what you're doing and it shows to the client that you're taking care of.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
My memorable client, I would say, is the one that I just recently taken care of. I got her through hospice and after taking care of her for like six months, the agency decided to take her off hospice. Since then, she got better until last year, she died. I took care of her for almost five years and she's the longest that I had. I loved working with the family and I love what I'm doing. She's my great accomplishment, I would say and I miss her.
