Can you tell me a little about yourself and how you got into caregiving?
My name is Halaevalu. I live in Pala Alto and I've been working, like caregiver for over twenty years. I became a caregiver back home. I took care of my great-great grandfather, my grandfather. I love this job because I love people.
What kind of caregiving do you provide?
When I work with dementia, I make them laugh, I talk funny, I dance. I just treat them like my dad or my uncle because that disease is very hard to take care of. But it's depend from us caregiver to make them happy. And whatever they want, we going to do it instead of leave them alone or something like that.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
What are your strengths as a caregiver?
One of my client I work with, she's a lady. I did everything for her; sponge bath her, dressing her, and washing, feed her, dress her hair, but I love that lady. She is so sweet. She is so sweet and she love me. Her son love me so, so much because I treat his mom like my mom.
I do what they want me to do. Even though I don't have to vacuum, I vacuum, I clean, I mop, I sweep. And that's what people love
