Hi, my name is Hannah. I live in Kerrville, TX and I have about two years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver, because I liked helping people, and I feel like the people who need the most help are the young and the elderly, and I personally prefer to work with the elderly.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be any information I could share or give him or her on my client that I was taking care of, because I would expect the same thing as a new caregiver than anybody else.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Amy. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's, and she had a very bad depression after I first started working with her, and I was the only person who'd come see her. She had no family, and nobody would ever come and take care of her. Everyday that I went there, it was her favorite time of the day, because somebody was there to be with her and spend time with her. Even though she had Parkinson's disease, she was still able to do some things on her own, but she really appreciated everything I did for her, and she was so kind and so sweet. And she would tell me all kinds of stories of her life, and it would light up her day just being able to have somebody there with her, and it warmed my heart that I was the person that was able to do that for her.
