Hi, my name is Harold. I have 7 years experience as a caregiver and I live in Palo Alto, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver interested in being able to help other people and I felt I was interested in things in the medical field. And I had my first experience as a caregiver in the military.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to be prepared for things that you didn't expect to happen. Do your best to ensure the safety of the patient. Do things in an organized and systematic manner. And always be concerned and aware of safety issues.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget, he was an 80-year-old gentleman. He was always bright, cheerful and always had a very interesting story to tell. He remembered things about the city where he grew up and lived his life in great detail and had some very interesting stories about his childhood and growing up in the early 1900s.
