Hi, my name is Hassna. I live in San Francisco, CA and I have 10 months of experience as a CNA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I like to be nearby old people. I like to help and I totally love that kind of job. I really like it, that's why I chose to be a caregiver.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is, to be a caregiver, it's not hard. It's easy, you just have to love what you're doing and to be patient with people to be helpful with people. If you go to somebody's home who need your help, you have to help and make that person happy with you, make him more comfortable with you and always asking when you're coming back because he or she likes you because you're doing your job in very good way, never cheat and never lie to the client, always be honest, always be helpful and make the client always happy and comfortable. That's my advice to a new caregiver.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The client I will never forget her name is Marjorie and the thing I won't forget is how many times I asked her to take a bed bath because when I started working with her, she was for one year didn't took a shower or bed bath and she have a lot of dead skin in face and her hair. For one month of trying to give her a bed bath, she finally said, "Yes, I will take a bed bath. We'll try." From since the first time every week we have a bed bath and she likes it and she make me said. "Yes, I did it," when she said, "Yes." So, that's my client I will never forget.
