Hi I'm Hia. I'm from Anaheim,CA. I have six months experience as caregiver.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my grandma is my best friend. Being a caregiver meant that I would be able to help her in more ways that I could ever imagine possible.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to put your heart into it. Don't think of it just as a job. Think of it more as an opportunity to help out those who need the extra help, who need that lending hand.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget, is this amazing woman named Selma. I met her at the facility I was doing clinicals at and she was just an amazing woman. She got a visit from her husband every single day. He came and he had breakfast with her. He would leave around 2 o'clock in the afternoon and just seeing them so in love, was honestly the most heart-warming image I have ever seen in my entire life. That image was so priceless, that no movie or no film could ever capture that amount of love and whenever I would ask them how they were doing, they would just smile and say, "I would always be doing good as long as I have the love of my life in my arms.
