Hi, my name is Iesha. I live in Snellville, GA and I have worked as a caregiver for nine years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because this is something that I love doing. My mom has inspired me because it's something she has been doing for the last 47 years and it's just something that keeps me going. I love to see others happy. I think that's why I been doing it for so long because it's just something that I love and they inspire me to go farther with it.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, don't feel less because you're having someone taking care of you. Always keep your head up and always know that I'm here to give you the care and needs that you will always need and I'm going to be here to protect you no matter what.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget, his name was Jimmy and he was 102 years old and he was very energized and he was a blessing. He was very sweet. He always wanted to go places and he always made me laugh. He used to always tell me that don't always stop what I want to do. I just got to do it. He just inspired me as well. He was just a sweetheart and I took care of him. I used to call him grandpa because he was a sweetheart and he was somebody that I could look up to. He was a grandpa that I had never had and I will always remember him.
