Hi. My name is Imunique. I live in San Antonio, TX. And I've been a caregiver for 4 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver when my grandmother got sick about 4 years ago. She got sick and had to be on hospice. Me, and my sister, and my mother, we just rotated giving her care. And she ended up passing away. And when she passed away, I just felt a call in to be there for others who needed someone in a time when they didn't have anyone.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
I would give a new caregiver the set to always be patient with your client, be understanding of their needs.. I would say, always be professional, be mindful of the things that they are dealing with in their lives.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is a client that I was working with. She was about 93 years old. She was at home living her by self. She had no family in San Antonio, whatsoever. Her family was in California so she needed 24-hour care
