My name is James. I live Yuba City, CA and I've been a caregiver for 6 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because one of my best friends that's in a wheelchair is a quadriplegic. His name is Jimmy, and that's who I worked for for the last six-and-a-half years.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, be patient. You always got to be patient with the client. You'll be kind and when they ask, don't mumble underneath your breath and say stuff. If you don't want to do it, just do it. You're their hands.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I'll never forget is my best friend. He talked to me about stuff that most people wouldn't understand. That's why he's my best friend.
