Hi. My name is Javaga, and I've been caregiving for 25 years, and I live in Apple Valley, CA.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my son is 28 years old, and he was born with a disability called hydrocephalus, to where the right side of his brain didn't develop. And I also took care of my grandmother who's 88 years old, who has dementia.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a caregiver is to stay prayed up, be humble, be blessed, and enjoy your job, because this job is not for everyone.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
Sean - it was a pleasure on taking our little ride to his dialysis, and I would sing the songs to let him know we're almost there. And it was time for him to get off the dialysis machine, I would sing the same song, and he would be, "Oh, I'm so thankful this is over. I'm tired." And I'll be like, "Okay, Sean. It's time to go."
