Hi, my name is Jeff, and I live in Hollywood, FL and I've been a caregiver for 14 months.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I'm someone who is humble, compassionate, and I can say that I have a good experience with the elderly. And it's a good point for me because I'm going to the nursing field soon, and I'm graduating this Friday to be a Certified Nursing Assistant, and I'm waiting for my third exam to be licensed.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, you need to be compassionate. You need to be patient. You need to be humble. You need to put yourself in their place. That's my suggestion to other caregivers.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Mrs. Mendez, because I saw in her like my grandma. That's why I would never forget her, and she was an amazing person, a person who fights for others. Someone will fight to have happiness, happiness for her grandchildren and that's why I would never forget her.
