Hi my name is Jeffrey. I live in San Diego,CA and I've been doing this kind of work in caregiving for 22 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because as a child I was in foster all my life. Never met my real parents and my philosophy in life is to give back to the generations that brought me here. So I decided that that was my gift of who I am and that's what I want my legacy to be.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, be patient, be observant, be understanding, be honest, be respectful, and just be yourself.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The client I will never forget is this gentleman that I took care of in Scottsdale, Arizona. This gentleman taught me a lot about what it's like to be a good person via his wisdom, his knowledge and his ideaology. He is a very smart, intelligent man and he changed my life, because he said that you need to look at the pros and cons of life and make the right decision, because there's going to be different consequences to what decisions you make in life. He just guided me on the right track and I can't thank that person enough for that generation because those are the people that are really the founder and core in moral and beliefs of who I am today.
