Hi, this is Jennifer. I've been a caregiver for over seven years and I live in Pattison, TX.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver when I worked at Hug Away Inc in Katy, TX and soon as I started, I immediately fell in love with taking care of the elderly people. I'm looking to go back and start taking care of elderly patients again because they need love, help, someone to talk to, support, do their errands and stuff, and that's what I'm looking for.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is to straight talk and find out what they like, what they like to do, help clean up and run the house, take them shopping, bathing, showering, and that's basically what there is all that you can do besides also cleaning up around the house and stuff because they're going to need a lot of help.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is, when I was working at an apartment complex in Katy, I'd go in three days a week for this sweet lady. I'd go in, talk to her first and see what all kind of stuff that she wants.
