Hi, my name is Jessie. I live in Desert Hot Springs, CA and I have about 3 to 5 years experience with caregiving.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I love taking care-- being helpful and taking care of others as if they were my own family members.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be, to take your time and be patient and just have a lot moving and understanding, take your time and just be who you really are. Don't try to improvise or be something that is not in your character or in your in your personality. Just be who you are and just love yourself, love your work, and you will love being in caregiving.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Pamela. She was very caring and loving. She inspired me to do things, to dream again, and to pursue what I dreamt of doing since when I was a child which is to be a nurse. Caregiving kind of ties that with me because it's part of being a nurse. I grew up in a retirement home helping out in retirement homes in the kitchen and helping the nurses out.
