Hi! My name is Josefina. I live in Milpitas, CA, and I have 8 years experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because I would like to observe the elderly people, and I would like them to have good services from me: companionship, meal preparation, and personal care, most of all.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver is to be good, caring, and soft-spoken, especially when talking to the elderly. Kind, polite, courteous.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is the one that I had in Saratoga Retirement Village. She's a very, very nice lady. She has been very soft-spoken, really alert still, and would like to accept me, who I am, and makes me feel I am needed for her services. And very grateful of what I do, and grateful and thankful to what I give her, and that is very appreciative of her. And that's very nice to know that I make her feel good, comfortable, happy, and whole as a person.
