Hi my name is Judith. I live in San Jose,CA and I've been a caregiver for two years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I like to be a caregiver because I have a strong desire to make a difference by providing quality companionship. I have the ability and the experience to provide emotional and physical support to clients and to deal with different personality. I am able to work independently and I have the competence to handle our necessary aspect of care, our attempt to such as organizational skill, empathy and honest.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver will be to be a person to be able to demonstrate professionalism, respect, and sensitivity with clients. Also, you need patience with a high level of energy to engage activity and conversation.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
My client I will never forget is about a woman, Laticia. She had 94 years old when I met her. She's come from Belgium and she live here in Mountain View. I met her because of the Community Service Agency of Mountain View. I was a senior service companion for this organization and I really liked the time that I spent with her because we talk about the history. She lived during the World War II and she had a lot of experience about traveling and everything and it was so interesting to talk about the politics, the culture, the history and I really enjoyed to spend time with her.
