Hi. My name is Natalie. I live in Visalia, CA, and I have 2 years of experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my dad passed away almost seven years ago, and before he passed away he was [hospitalized?] and we were taking care of him. So that's what inspired me to be a caregiver.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a caregiver would be to treat them with respect and to be as polite as they can to them because we are there because they have problems, so we have to make sure that we understand them and be compassionate about them.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
The client I will never forget was a woman who was 93 years old. I take care of her for almost a year-and-a-half. She was very nice. She could tell me all the stories about when she was growing up, and she was funny and very understanding.
