Hi, my name is Keilah, and I'm from Los Angeles, CA. And I've been a caregiver for 11 years.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my grandmother got sick when I was 10, and she was juggling around from house to house. And nobody could take care of her, so I decided, "This is what I want to do, take care of people."
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a new caregiver would be to be patient, and listen to your client's needs and wants, and observe.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I will never forget, most memorable, was my 91-year-old client that just takes life by the handle. Every time I saw her, she had good advice to live by. I loved this lady, and she's still living today. Great advice, nice conversation about the world and the world we live in. I truly respect this lady.
