Hi, my name is Kim. I live in Long Beach, CA and I have three years of caregiving experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregive, because as a young child I've always wanted to become a nurse, and also having my father who was very elderly. He passed away from a stroke. I was responsible for taking care of him at home, and I found that taking care of other people was my passion.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice for a new caregiver would be to be very patient and treat very individual with dignity and respect.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client that I never forget is one that I had recently taken care of. She was 103 years old. I had started taking care of her when she was 101, and she was very active, and she was very passionate about everything in life. And she always taught me how to be strong during the hardest moments, so I think that she's given me a lot of advice that I can take on through my life, and I will never forget her.
