Hi, my name is Kimberly. I live in Fort Worth, TX and I have one year experience.
How did you get into caregiving?
I became a caregiver because my brother had an aneurysm and me and my sister took turns taking care of him. And also my son was diagnosed with autism at the age of two, I believe. And he's 17 now and he's been out of school for almost this whole year, so I've been taking care of him. So that's why I became a caregiver.
What advice would you provide to a new caregiver?
My advice to a caregiver would be to be patient, kind, listen to them, be on time, be courteous.
Who is one of your most memorable clients?
A client I will never forget is Miss Lynn. Miss Lynn was the funniest lady ever. I made her some greens one day. I came up to her house the next day and she asked why was her poop green. And that made me laugh so bad because she thought I put something in her food, but I had to remind her and pull out the pots and pans from the day before, saying that we had greens and pork chops for lunch that day. It was so funny.
